“Together

we will work to understand the causes and cures for the issues that bring you to therapy. We will seek to uncover your inner light that can shine through and guide you toward a new future.”

I believe that relationships are the key to living a life that is not only free from emotional distress but can also lead toward joy, happiness and health. For over 20 years, I have been dedicated to building trusting relationships with clients of all ages. Together, we will work to understand the causes and cures for the issues that bring you to therapy. My office is in a very private setting, and my hope is that my clients will feel comfortable to open up their inner self. We will seek to uncover your inner light that can shine through and guide you toward a new future.

I practice psychodynamic psychotherapy, where I listen to you seeking to understand what you are saying from your perspective. Psychodynamic therapy, also known as "insight-oriented therapy," evolved from Freudian psychoanalysis but strives, in a shorter and less intense way, to bring the unconscious into conscious awareness to promote insight and resolve conflicts.

I also practice play therapy, including sand tray therapy, to help children too young for talk therapy and older children reluctant to speak of what is troubling them. Because children develop cognitive skills before language skills, play is an effective way to understand a child. Play Therapy is appropriate for children ages 3 to 11.

My background in education, early childhood development, teaching nursery school, parenting education, and life experience with three fine sons and three wonderful granddaughters are invaluable in this work.
